CGA GROWER DEVELOPMENT COMPANY:

 Lukhanyo Nkombisa, General Manager, CGA Grower Development Company
Up until December 2015, Lukhanyo Nkombisa was the CGA's Transformation Manager, a position he had held since 2008.
He previously worked at DAFF (Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) which assisted him with knowing just who to address on matters pertaining to transformation within the citrus industry.
Over the past few years Lukhanyo has gained much knowledge by attending University courses in the fields of Human Resource Management, agricultural leadership development, land reform and project management.
His main roles include co-ordinating extension services amongst citrus growers, co-ordinating mentorship programmes, lobbying farmer support, engaging with government departments including national, provisional,
district and local municipalities as well as other development agencies country wide.
He also convenes and assists the Citrus Growers Development Chamber in their meetings throughout the year and works closely with the regional representatives on the Chamber.
During 2015 the CGA Board of Directors approved the formation of a CGA GROWER DEVELOPMENT COMPANY which will run separately from the CGA with its own management, Board and Budget.
The new Company Board was announced and held a Strategic Planning Workshop in July 2015 in the Eastern Cape to put together a Business Plan and decide the way forward.
The CGA GDC is under the Chairmanship of Mono Mashaba. He is ably assisted by Juliette du Preez (vice), Rudzani Rasikhanya, Lawrence Mgadle and Thomson Mankhili.
This Board elected Lukhanyo Nkombisa to take up the responsibility of General Manager, a position he took up from 1st January 2016.

On the evening of 18th March 2016 the CGA Grower Development Company held its Launch at the Diep in the Berg Hotel in Pretoria.
Keynote speaker was Minister of Agriculture Senzeni Zokwana who congratulated the CGA on the formation of this grower development company and promised the support of his department.
